Write 2014

It's 2014, and January is a good time to decide on objectives/target goals/plans for writing.  These are guidelines I use.  Some of them may work for you, too!



Write 2014- A collection of guidelines



Write Daily

-Prioritize writing time
-Track WC total (word count)
-Add to current WIPs: science fiction, and alternative history novel
-Record new ideas, filter and research


Blogging

-Blog posting/research = writing time.
-Consider participating in the A to Z Blog Challenge (April 2014)
-Maintain current posting schedules. (3 -6 times a month)

-Join WEP (Denise Covey's Write,Edit, Publish) for monthly  (DONE Jan 2014) 


Writing Projects

-Define goals (chapters, submissions, and revisions)
-Prioritize projects at intervals (novels, blogposts, short stories, reviews)
-Produce more writing
-Read and review books once a month, minimum
-Submissions, increase and track
-Writer's admin:  queries, submissions, research publishing prospects


Maintain a Writing Calendar

-Add reminders to a Month-at-a-Glance calendar (link below)
-Record writing time, productivity
-Post calendar by desk/workstation / Use it


Take Copious Notes / Take Photos / Learn

-Observe and record interesting, unusual or everyday events
-Increase photo archives in 2014
-Read books in a variety of genres
-Stay informed about the industry (via blogs, other media)


Support other Writers

-Blog events (blogfests, launches, contests)
-Buy books, review books I recommend
-Follow writer blogs, comment.
